Should we kill the bad guys?
Texas murder
A few weeks ago I read an article in Aftonbladet about a dad who killed a guy who had abused his underage daughter. I think he beat him to death. This took place in Texas, USA. First of all, the first crime in this extremely tragical story is the most horrific one. I truly understand the dads rage towards the mental ill man who had abused his daughter. All though, revenge is never the right option. More people get their lives destroyed on the way. The rapist probably has a family or relatives. The killer (the dad) has a daughter who really need him now and he also probably has a wife and other relatives to take care of. It’s enough trauma as it is already. The interesting in this tragical story is that the the killer, or the dad if you want, got away with the murder. What kind of signals does this sent to ordinary people out there? And most important, what signals does it send to people with disorders? There are no guaranties in life. Life is tough. Many people will end up in a similar situation sometimes in life, or they will know someone who will and so on. But this kind of signals could lead to that more ordinary people take the law in their own hands and kill different criminals. And only because the legal system says it's all right. There will be blood. So how tolerant should the society be?
“Consequence and damage”
It’s not like the dad killed the sex offender in self defense. He killed him because he was angry. Really angry. From what I'm heard, the rapist had no weapon nearby and wasn’t upset or threatening in some way (except for the danger he was for the underage daughter). He had raped or tried to rape his daughter. The damage was already done. In some cases you have the right to defend yourself. In my opinion this is not a case like that. But the Texas jury thought that there were a consequence and damage case.
My interest
In July I read a commentary about this case on facebook. Someone had written “Only in the US, to bad”. I felt really bad about this commentary. At first sight, I guess its natural to think that the rapist got what he deserved. But think again. If you kill a bad guy and get away whit it, what will the consequences in the long term be? The Texas jury says that it is to kill people who do bad things. I am not surprised when it came to USA. The ordinary people in the suburbs get less tolerant. And if the legal system says its OK, we have a problem. We will get more killings. In the suburbs, in the city and in the jail. Yeah, everywhere.
In many states in the US there is a zero tolerance against bad people. Or as I would say it, its a zero tolerance against mental ill people. People who has grown up without the right people around them, without the right help along with a fragile or some sort of mental disiese. We can prevent these kind of incidents if the right resources and help is implemented in early stages of a potential pedophile or murderer. Ordinary people is allowed to have guns nearby in order to defend themselves. It’s OK to kill bad people. They treat criminals like animals. They are control freaks and many people in the US is scared, they are really scared. Scared people could be a danger. It is spreading like cancer. I don’t like USA. It’s only a country for alert and healthy people with naive dreams. They don’t take care of the people who really needs it.
There will be mistakes
There are a lot of reason why the society should not allow killing bad people. In this case there were no doubt that the rapist was guilty. But what if its more dubious?
In US they release the names on all sex offenders. It doesn’t matter if it is Joe, 46 that have had sex with Lisa, 6 or if it is Seb, 20 that have had sex with Jessica 14. They are treated in the same way. They are treated like animals. These animals, just like us, has been loved by a mother, they have had dreams, they want do good but they are mental ill, unlike most people. There are a lot of people out there who are mental ill and there will always be even if we kill them over and over again. Because it lies in the human nature to fertilize. The nature creates us and some of us will always be wrongly programmed by our parents, the society, our neighborhood and by the school. As long as new individuals is set to the world there is always going to exist pedophiles, murderers etc. It is our responsibility to take care of these kinds of problems – together. After the school shootings in Newtown last December Obama held a speech in the local church (or something). He said “Something has to be done, we can’t go on like this – WE NEED TO CHANGE. Conclusion: We are all in this together.
They are on the same list. I mean when I was 20 i easily could have had sex with a fourteen year old. I think that there is a huge difference between that or if Olle, 68 sexually abuses Lisa, 7 years old. But no, they are on the same list. This is dangerous and most important stupid.
Ordinary people hates pedophiles, murderers and other criminals. End of story. I guess they are stressed, less intellectual, scared and has a lack of self esteem. They don't realize that it easily could have been them who creates monster, or is created to be a monster. Its a thin line. But they don't realize that life is like buying a lottery ticket. They don't want to bear near the monsters. They are scared about the small difference between ordinary people and mental ill people. What you don't see doesn’t exist.
“Happily ever after”
Lets take an example. It’s a suburb with happy families. They go to work, they bake cup cakes, they gossip, they compete about who has the newest car, they have nice gardens and they socialize with each other. And so on. And so on. There are a lot of children in the neighborhood. We have some intolerant people, some understanding people some dumb people, some reflective people, some aggressive ones, some naive ones and some crazy ordinary people in the neighborhood. Its like any neighborhood with ordinary people.
One day they look at the news about the dad who get away with murder. Of course most of them think it was right, but maybe there are some intellectual and tolerant people around. Its not likely though. It is spreading like a cancer. They talk about it and the conclusion often is that they would have done the same thing. But what the idiots don’t know is that the threat isn’t out there. The threat is often more closer than you think, mostly within the family.
One day a new family moves in to neighborhood. A curious idiot, let’s call him Jonny, in the neighborhood finds out that the son in the new family, 21 years old, is on the sex offender list. Let’s call him Johan. Johan is on parole after having sex with a 14 year old girl, let’s call her Emma. The sex wasn’t forced by Johan, they were actually a couple. They were actually in love. But they hide it from Emmas parents. But according to the law this is not OK All though they were truly in love and they just had “bad luck” that Emma was underage. You can call it an unlucky meeting. However, Emma's parents caught Johan and Emma in the bed. Emmas parents gets upset and they take charges against Johan. End of the short story. However this is not the stereotype of a bad pedophile. This was just a young boy who was in love with a young girl.
Before Johan moved to the area some people was suspicious towards another man who lived in the neighborhood. A 25 year old, lets call him Jonathan, who was a little bit odd and often hang out with much younger girls. Some neighbors were worried about this guy. They watched him. But that was before the suspected pedophile moved to the area.
Jonny calls for a neighborhood meeting. The information is spreading like a cancer. People get scared and paranoid. It’s a pedophile in their neighborhood! They are freezing out Jonahs mom. Johan and his mom dares going out. In the local grosser store Johans mom isn’t aloud to purchase merchandises. As I said there are a lot of children in the area. In the families it’s a lot of talking about what they should do. They are worried. Real worried.
They creates demonstrations in the neighborhood, they make leaflets and scatter them around. They calls the police and tell them that there is a monster in THEIR neighborhood They terrorize Johan and his mom. The fathers in the neighborhood talks about what Johan deserves in front of their own children. He deserves to die. He should burn to death. We should shoot him and so on. Jonnys two children, the twins Jimmy och Benny, 10 years old, sees up their dad and they listen carefully about what he says. They want to make him proud.
All attention is now on Johan, who is at the sex offender list. The suspicion against the odd Jonatan is now gone. What if he is the real threat?
We are close to Halloween. At the last neighborhood meeting it was decided that the children was not aloud to trick or treat at Johan and his moms house. And Johan and his mom is not aloud to go out. Basta.
Three young sisters, 7, 8 and 9 years old, ask their father (in another house) if a pedophile isn’t a human being. In this house there a little more of intellect around and the fathers explains to the daughters that its a disease, a mental disease He explains further that it is a rare disease. One of the daughters, Isabella, says: - So they are just like us, but they are sick? Can't we cure them then? When I am sick you take care of me dad... why can’t Johans mom take care of him? The father: Well...I looked Johan up and I have read the sentence. He was just in love with his girlfriend. Isabella: I don’t understand, why does everyone hate him then? Dad: Because people are intolerant and stupid. They only hear what they want to hear. So go out for some trick and treat now, says the dad.
The sisters goes out fore some trick and trick and they agree on going home to Johan and his mom. In another house Jimmy och Benny has a plan. They want do make their father proud. They are going to burn down the potential pedophiles house (Johan). At the same time the odd Jonathan has managed to create a date with a daughter in the neighborhood, 13 years old Nicole.
The three sisters knocks on Johan and his moms house. They are so welcome and both Johan and his mom is very happy over the surprising meeting with the lovely three sisters. Johan locks the door just out of fear. They go down to the basement where they have some candy for the children. Jimmy and Benny is outside the house. They throw a firebomb in to the house. They also nails a plank so no one can go out. The fire is spreading quickly. Johan, his mom and the sisters is still in the basement unknowing of their destiny. But suddenly there is a smell of smoke and Johan go upstairs to check. Suddenly there is a new firebomb thrown out the house. It hits Johan badly, he gets unconscious The fire is now everywhere and no one came out. They all dies in fire.
Meanwhile Jonathan (the earlier suspected odd weird guy) forces Nicole to have sex with him in their house. She cries for help but no one hears him. Because he wasn’t the threat, Johan was.
Conclusion
So what happened here? Well, the evil of man kind appeared in many ways. Before Johan, who was on the sex offender list, moved in we had a threat in the weird and odd Jonatan who spent time with much younger girls. The neighbors talked about him a lot and what they should do in order to prevent him doing something bad. A new threat moved in who was on the sex offender list. As said before, the sex offender list doesn’t distinguish between Joe, 46 that have had sex with Lisa, 6 or Seb, 20 that have had sex with Jessica 14. They are treated in the same way. They are treated like animals. The real threat wasn’t very interesting anymore, now they had fact of a new threat.
It also shows how people in group become idiots. Children listens to their parents.
It ends up with that five innocent people is killed in a tragic accident/joke. It ends up with a rape of a thirteen year old by the real threat, Jonathan. It ends up with two young men, Benny and Jimmy, getting their lives destroyed. Their parents gets their lives destroyed. The neighborhood will never be the same. The neighborhood should had been more tolerant. The neighborhood shuld have done some research. The threat is not often out there. The threat is often nearby, often within your own family.
